The Amish have traditionally made terrific furniture. Their engineering delivers great comfort, beauty, and durability with an amazing economy of weight and cost. This chair is made in the Amish country in Pennsylvania and is the best chair of this type that we have found. The craftsmanship shows in the carefully sculpted components, the precise assembly, and the consistent finish. The steam-bent back slats offer great lumbar support and a natural fit (as opposed to the excessive curve of many Amish rockers). The oak slats and runners are available in golden (natural) or provincial (medium) finishes. The frame is bent hickory twig (tested to support 700 lbs.) This is a great chair for indoors or out, especially with the matching footstool. We also sell the matching side table. A child's version is also available. |
